Jack Malone Gone Missing on Without a Trace?

I love the character, Jack Malone on "Without a Trace". However, it seems like the last several episodes have only portrayed him in his personal roles, and not his FBI role. I guess we're seeing a kinder, gentler, Jack Malone. Instead of his relentless pursuit of bad guys, we see him building personal relationships with his girlfriend, Agent Samantha Spade, and his teenage daughter who has just moved back to New York to live with him and go to school. We see the hard nosed cop learning to mellow out and communicate with his daughter. We see the awkward relationship between Jack, Sam, Sam's son, and the father of Sam's son.

So the Jack Malone I have come to know and love has apparently disappeared without a trace. Let's get the rest of the team on it and figure out where he's gone.
